How to measure the size of non-standard screws

Apr 24, 2022 View: 481

1. Diameter measurement:

The diameter of a non-standard screw refers to its screw part. Since the screw is divided into full thread and half thread, the middle part of the screw can be directly measured for the full thread, while the polished shank part needs to be measured for the half thread.

2. Length measurement:

There are two ways to measure the length of non-standard screws. One is the measurement of countersunk head screws: the length of the entire screw from the beginning to the end, that is, the length of the entire screw is its length. Another way to measure the length of the screw thread diameter is enough.

3. Head size measurement:

Usually, for non-standard screws, especially non-standard parts and special-shaped parts, head size testing is required.

4. Head thickness measurement:

We usually need to measure the heads of non-standard screws, usually only pan head screws and socket head cap screws, other types of screws are usually produced according to specifications.

5. The size of the opposite side of the hexagon:

External hex screws need to measure opposite side and diagonal ratios.

6. Groove depth measurement:

The measurement of groove depth is also essential, and the groove depth dimension of non-standard parts can be changed according to customer requirements.
