Production process of Rounded Head Machine Screws

Rounded head machine screws, also known as pan head screws, are widely used in various industries for their versatility and ease of installation. The production process of rounded head machine screws typically involves several steps:

1. Material selection: The first step is to choose the appropriate material for the machine screws. Common materials include stainless steel, carbon steel, and brass, depending on the specific application requirements.

2. Cold heading: In this process, a wire or rod of the chosen material is cut into a specific length and then fed into a cold heading machine. The machine applies pressure to the material, shaping it into the desired screw head shape, which, in the case of rounded head machine screws, is a rounded or pan-shaped head.

3. Thread rolling: After cold heading, the screw's shaft is typically unthreaded. To add threads, the screw is then fed into a thread rolling machine. This machine applies pressure to the shaft, creating the spiral grooves that allow the screw to be securely fastened into a threaded hole.

4. Heat treatment: Once the screw has been formed and threaded, it may undergo a heat treatment process to enhance its mechanical properties. Heat treatment can improve the screw's strength, hardness, and resistance to corrosion.

5. Surface finishing: To improve the appearance and protect against corrosion, the screws may undergo various surface finishing processes. Common surface finishes include electroplating, zinc coating, or passivation, depending on the desired properties and aesthetics.

6. Inspection and quality control: Throughout the production process, quality control measures are taken to ensure that the screws meet the required specifications. This includes dimensional checks, thread quality inspection, and surface finish evaluation.

7. Packaging: The final step involves packaging the rounded head machine screws according to the customer's requirements. They are typically packed in boxes, bags, or other suitable containers, ready for distribution and use.
